Notes

The only shape T. & R. Boote, Edward Walley & Elijah Jones registered was in 1845.  Edward Walley was in partnership with Elijah Jones at the Villa Pottery. In February 1845 Elijah Jones left the business and Edward Walley continued on his own account. Thomas L. Boote and Richard Boote (T. & R. Boote) commenced their pottery business in Burslem in 1842.  In a dispute with Copeland and Mintons over the invention of Parian ware, Thomas L. Boote claimed to have first made parian in 1841 with Elijah Jones.   There is no evidence that these three prominent potters produced any ware as a collective.  They did, however, register one design in April 1845, possibly as a guard against disputes that Boote and Jones had already encountered with Copeland and Mintons.
